Lady Madison looked herself over in the mirror. The sexy armor she'd bought felt good and with the boots and gloves, it looked good on her fit, firm body. It was flattering to the point of making her blush. "Hmm, I suppose this isn't half bad."
She looked down from the mirror and at her body. "I really am sexy. I'm glad I bought the armor." She completed the look with the sheathe and sword she wore yesterday. Then she posed around for a bit.
She draw the sword and raised it in the air. "I am Lady Madison, sexy warrior. I may be vulnerable and cold, but I am sexy and empowered. Hear me roar!" With that, she sheathed her sword and headed out to the guest house to see Shalista.
As soon as she stepped out of her front door she heard a female grunting and shouting. It was coming from the training grounds. She hurried to she what was going on.
It was Shalista, hard at work with her halberd. She slashed and stabbed at the training dummies Lady Madison had set up, her body glistening with sweat. She had good technique and an equally good work ethic. Perhaps she'd be interested in joining the Emporan military.
Then, Shalista noticed her and stopped an attack mid-thrust, standing upright and facing her. "So, you're wearing armor. You look good. How do you feel?"
"Liberated," Lady Madison answered. "It does feel good in this heat."
"Heh, heh, behold the benefits of sexy armor," Shalista laughed.
Lady Madison low down at her body again. "I still can't believe I'm wearing something like this. I mean, I'm Lady Madison. This isn't the type of stuff I wear."
Shalista looked toward the path to the Ellis House and pointed. "Expecting company?"
"No." Lady Madison looked and saw a pair of female Emporan knights in full armor coming. "Oh no. I can't be seen like this." It didn't seem like the women had seen her yet. Maybe she could hurry and change.
Then, the women started running toward them.
She'd never make it to the house before they got to her. All she could do was look away.
"What's wrong?" Shalista asked.
"Those two look up to me as the ultimate female warrior," Lady Madison said. "To be seen like this by them of all people..."
"Is that you, Lady Madison?" one of the women asked.
Well, there was no more use looking away anymore. She turned their way, looking down at her feet. "Lady Glinda. Lady Iocasta. What brings you here today?" She briefly looked up and saw tears running down Lady Iocasta's face before looking back down at her feet.
"No, not you," Lady Iocasta said, her voice quivering. "We'd expect something like this from Lady Belinda, but not you. How shameful."
"Lady Belinda?" Shalista asked.
"My best friend who fights in sexy armor," Lady Madison said.
"To think we looked up to you," Lady Glinda said. "Why?"
"Hey, what's your problem?" Shalista asked.
"Silence, you cockroach," Lady Glinda said. "No one is speaking to you."
Lady Iocasta sniffled. "It was you. You're the one who corrupted a mighty warrior like Lady Madison and made her wear such ridiculous armor. Lady Glinda, if we get rid of her, our heroine will come to her senses once again."
"You children better go home before you get hurt," Shalista said. Gone was that fun-loving, jovial tone she'd spoken with since Lady Madison met her. She was serious. Deadly serious.
Lady Madison could not let what was about to happen to play out. Gone was the embarrassment of being seen like this by Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta. "Stop!" Lady Madison shouted. "I may be on vacation and wearing this armor, but I'm still your superior. Shalista is the newest of my friends and I wish for her stay here to be as comfortable as possible. Now then if my words aren't good enough and you doubt my strength because of this armor..."
Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta both gasped and looked frightened. "W-we would never u-underestimate you," Lady Glinda said. "We j-just wanted to s-save you."
"P-please let us vanquish this demon," Lady Iocasta said.
Lady Madison stayed even. "What did I just say?"
Then, Shalista stepped forward. "Thank you, Lady Madison, but it's obvious they want to fight me. The only thing stopping them is that they are scared pissless of you. They will simply attack me when I'm not near you. I wish to nip that in the bud right now."
Lady Madison looked at the two female knights. "Do you really do to fight her?"
Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta nodded.
"Okay, but training swords will be used. No real weapons and no magic. Understood, you two?"
They nodded.
"Understood, Shalista?"
Shalista nodded.
"Very well. Let's get some training weapons and begin."
