Lady Madison and Sophia were on the training grounds drinking tea as Shalista began her sexy warrior lessons with Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta. Not knowing what the lessons included, Lady Madison listened intently.
"Okay, you two," Shalista said. "It's time to learn how to become sexy warriors. First, there are three overarching tips that are consistent. First, be fit and firm. Nobody want to see you in sexy armor if you weight 800 pounds and have saggy flesh all over the place."
Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta frowned, then checked each other. "You're good," Lady Glinda said.
"You, too," Lady Iocasta said.
"You're both fine," Shalista said. "I checked you out myself. Anyway, on to the second tip. Be comfortable and confident." She glared at Lady Madison.
"Urk!" Lady Madison gasped.
Shalista shifted her attention back to the two young knights. "And finally, the third tip. Don't get hit. As you saw when we last fought, it doesn't matter what your opponent is wearing and what weapons they're using if they can't hit you. So, any questions before we go further?"
Lady Glinda raised her hand. "What do I do if a man comes onto me?"
"That depends on how you feel about the guy," Shalista answered. "Being a sexy warrior doesn't have to mean being a slut. You don't have to give in to sexual advances if you don't want to. I, for example, am still a virgin at thirty-three because I choose to be. Being a sexy warrior requires you to truly be comfortable with yourself."
"Unless you're fat and saggy," Sophia chimed in.
"Shut up, Legs!" Shalista shot back. Then she looked at the two young knights again. "Any other questions?"
"What if other female knights laugh at us or make fun of our skimpy armor," Lady Iocasta inquired.
"Tip two," Shalista said. "Be comfortable and confident. You have to comfortable with your body and confident in your abilities. Maybe those other women are concerned for your safety, but they are usually jealous because they can't rock the sexy armor like you can. If you have the looks to pull it off and the skills to be successful, the fault is with them, not you. For example, this Belinda woman I've heard about." She looked at Lady Madison. "What's she like?"
"It's as you say," Lady Madison answered. "She is extremely comfortable with her body and extremely confident in her skills. She's been wearing sexy armor for thirteen years now and has never once tried to cover up. She's almost as powerful as me and I don't think she's lost once."
Shalista nodded. "Sophia. Why do you wear a miniskirt and a regular shirt as battle gear?"
"I'm primarily a spellcaster, so I already don't wear armor to begin with," Sophia said. "Also, I specialize in stealth and assassination, so armor would only slow me down and make too much noise. Finally, I can protect myself with magic shields, so I don't need the added expense or maintenance that come with full armor. Simply put, regular clothes make more sense to me and the jobs I do."
"And she's extremely proficient, if I do say so myself," Lady Madison said.
"See?" Shalista said to the two knights. "You have two people you know personally as examples that you can be sexy and successful as a warrior. Screw what everyone else thinks. "Now then, seeing how as everyone here is good at tips one and three, let's practice the second tip. To the town."
A shiver went down Lady Madison's spine. "What? What do you mean?"
"We're going into town to work on this girls' confidence," Shalista answered. "You can't be a sexy warrior and be ignored. People are going to look. That's just the reality of the situation. You're welcome to join us."
"Please come with, Lady Madison," Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta begged.
"With you around, we're sure to be take seriously," Lady Glinda said. "I mean, you're Lady Madison. I know I'd be a lot more comfortable with you around."
"But I have to change," Lady Madison said. "I can't be seen walking around like this. I mean...my butt..."
"Please don't change," the other four said.
"You're on vacation," Shalista said. "Live it up. Be a sexy warrior with us. Remember, you're not Lady Madison, face of the Emporan military. You're Madison Ellis, citizen of Empora. It there's anytime you should do it, it's now. You know you want to."
Lady Madison groaned. "Can I at least get my cape. I really don't want my butt to show."
"Sure," Shalista said. "It will make you look even more badass."
"Thank you. I'll be right back." She hurried inside, pulled her cape out of her armor closet and put it on. Then, she checked herself out in the mirror to make sure her backside had enough coverage. She took one look at her military armor and asked, "Why am I doing this? I'm not a sexy warrior." She briefly thought about changing before ultimately deciding not to.
Upon setting foot outside, she received whistles and howls from the other. "Ooh, look at her," Lady Iocasta said. "She's so cute in her little armor and little cape. She's looks so cool."
Shalista shook her head and laughed. "I thought you were going to wuss out on us for a minute."
"I thought about it," Lady Madison said. "I still don't know why I didn't. but let's go before I change my mind. To town!"
The five women traveled down the path to the city. Once they emerged from the trees, all eyes immediately looked their way. Lady Madison froze.
"What's wrong?" Shalista asked.
"They're looking directly at me," Lady Madison said. "I'm so embarrassed right now. This is stupid. I'm going home." She turned back.
"No, no, no," Sophia said, grabbed her hand. "You look good. Don't waste this armor just sitting at home."
"That's easy for you to say," Lady Madison cried. "You're at least wearing something that resembles clothing."
Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta let of relieved sighs. "It's really not that bad," Lady Glinda said. "The first time we came through, I was embarrassed, too. Now, relief is the only thing I feel. I'm out there and I realized what I've been missing. I feel liberated, sexy, and empowered."
Lady Madison groaned and turned around. Everyone was still staring. "Um...hi, everyone."
The whispers started. "Is the Lady Madison?"
"Whoa! I didn't know she was hiding a body like that under all that armor."
"Where's her armor? She looks so awkward?"
"Lady Madison? More like Lady Sexy."
Then, one teenage girl walked over and grabbed her hand. "I think you look cool. I want to be just like you because you're still Lady Madison, the baddest badass in the Empire. It doesn't matter what you're wearing."
She looked at the teenager, then at Sophia, who was nodding and smiling. And just like that, the embarrassment disappeared. She took a deep breath, stepped forward, and started walking.
"Are we good to go?" Shalista asked.
Lady Madison nodded. "Yes. Let's go."
"To the Novelty Armor Shop," Shalista said. "Let's get Sophia sexed up so we all can match."
Sophia's eyes widened as she looked over and gasped. "What?"
Lady Glinda and Lady Iocasta frowned, then checked each other. "You're good," Lady Glinda said.
"You, too," Lady Iocasta said.
"You're both fine," Shalista said. "I checked you out myself. Anyway, on to the second tip. Be comfortable and confident." She glared at Lady Madison.
